Matthew trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama

Theatre:  ‘Valere’ in Tartuffe (Watermill Theatre Newbury);  ‘SS Officer’ in Bent  (Trafalgar Studios); ‘Mr Pike’ in Nicholas Nickleby (on tour, Gielgud Theatre and Toronto); ‘Captain Nicholls’ in War Horse (New London Theatre);  ‘Laertes’ in Hamlet 1603 (White Bear, Kennington); ‘Reg’ in This Happy Breed (Theatre Royal, Bath); ‘B’ in Atman (Finborough Theatre); ‘The Prince’ in Romeo and Juliet (Headlong Theatre/Tour); ‘Sir George Airy’ in The Busy Body (Southwark Playhouse), ‘Milo’ in Sleuth (Watermill, Newbury),  ‘Macbeth’ in Macbeth (Orange Tree Theatre).

Matthew created the role of ‘Syme’ in Robert Icke’s original Headlong production of 1984 which played at Nottingham, on tour, the Almeida Theatre and the Playhouse Theatre.  He played ‘Winston’ in the 2014 tour.

Film:  Alice  (Directed by Marianne Elliott for Ruby Films) and The Runner (Emperor’s New Films) which won the People’s choice Award and Best Short Film at the 2013 Reed Film Festival
