Stage Management

Neil Hillyer - Company Stage Manager

Neil is a former member of the National Youth Theatre, trained at RADA and has worked in Genres as diverse as Drama, Dance, Shakespeare, Farce, Children’s Theatre, Greek Tragedy, Pantomime, Opera and Ballet.

Neil has had spells at the RNT, RSC, Scottish Opera and in the West End. Because Neil lives on an old Croft in the Outer Hebrides, he is definitely not a city lover and is much happier Touring - though he could be easily tempted to give up life on the road should a Deep Purple musical ever be produced!

As well as ‘The Woman in Black’ (back for a fourth scaring) career highlights have been the Children’s shows ‘The Ideal Gnome Expedition’, ‘The Tiger who came to Tea’ and ‘The Gingerbread Man’ - all directed by David Wood.

Olivia Roberts - Deputy Stage Manager

Olivia trained at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, graduating with a degree in Stage Management and Technical theatre.              

Assistant Stage Manager credits include: "Private Lives"(TRB/Sonia Friedman Prods), "La Bete" (Sonia Friedman Prods) "The Children's Hour" (Sonia Friedman Prods), "Quartermaine's Terms" (Michael Codron Plays Ltd) and most recently "Evening At The Talk House" (National Theatre).

She has worked as a Deputy Stage Manager on: "Private Lives" (Amanda Prods, Broadway), "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (Theatre Royal Bath) and Forgotten Voices (Nick Brooke, Edinburgh Fringe) and been a Stage Manager on the book for "Ghostbusters: A Live Cinema Experience" and "Who's Afraid of Roger Rabbit? A Live Cinema Experience" for Future Cinema.


Olivia is very excited to return for her second tour of "The Woman in Black."

James Enser - Assistant Stage Manager, Technical Swing 

James Enser graduated from The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School with a BA in Professional Stage Management, during his final year he Stage Managed his first profession production, THE VAUDEVILLAINS, at the Charing Cross Theatre, with a transfer to the Lowry. After graduating James performed the roles of ASM and DSM on various pieces with Secrect Cinema before taking on the position of Senior Stage Manager for their productions of CASABLANCA, BRAZIL, and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER. Along with other freelance technical employment most recently James has taken work as the Tech Swing on THE LORAX at The Old Vic and GOOSEBUMPS ALIVE at the Vaults, not forgetting of course last year's tour of THE WOMAN IN BLACK.
